Are We There Yet?
What I really mean to ask is, “Is it Spring yet?” in the same whiney voice. You know what I’m talking about. In the meantime, here is our February Newsletter for your inspiration. These are Fairy Gardens you can create and enjoy any time of year. And (happy bonus) no matter how brown your thumbs may be, they will stay healthy, green and blooming. Fairy Gardens, Kids and Great Adventures
Garden centers all over America provide many wonderful opportunities for us to attend classes and workshops about Fairy Gardens and Miniature Gardens. We can learn the fundamentals of Miniature Gardening, design basics, miniature plant and succulent care, and so much more. I’m a believer that Fairies, Gardening and Kids just naturally go together. I’m not saying Miniature Gardening is not an adult hobby, because I’m completely obsessed and can’t get enough. However, building

Thinking About Spring?
I know I am! Thinking and hoping Spring comes soon! It’s not too soon to be planning for outdoor miniature gardens. Of course, you can plant indoors anytime. That’s my favorite part about Fairy Gardens. Well, one of my favorite parts. I’ve located an article I’d like to share with you from Better Homes and Gardens about great plants for miniature gardens, including a bit about their care and preferences. I hope you find it helpful. Click on the link or the photo. Enjoy! htt

Hope, Promise and Fairy Wings
Although I’m not one for resolutions, something about a new year just gives me a feeling of optimism and expectation. A new beginning, perhaps? How about you? Anticipating good things for 2019? A positive attitude goes a long way in turning things around. If all else fails, don’t forget to fling a little fairy dust! Just Mini Gardens wishes you, friends new and old, a safe, happy and prosperous New Year! #FairyDust #Gardening #MiniaturePlants #FairyGarden #LifeTruths #Miniatu

Fall In The Fairy Garden
Alright. These are not fairies. But they are delightful. And they are some of my favorite people. And looking oh so adorably Fall-ish. Anyway... I have a good reason for talking about Fall, even though it is hardly Fall in the Smokies. It still feels like Summer. I found this great DIY from Espoma for a Fall Fairy Garden and it talks about a product I've never heard of, but I am definitely going to be using. Welcome Summer!
This is what I think of when I think happy thoughts. Sun, sand, toes in the water, and a fruity frozen beverage sporting a fairy-size umbrella. Ahhhh! You haven’t heard from us much lately. Our apologies. What a Spring it has been! We are so grateful to be busy… but one day our landlord walked in and announced he was selling our building. Soon. So on top of our busiest season we have been hunting a new location, hiring contractors, designing a new space… oh so many lit

Always Leave Room for Fairies
Those in the know (i.e. Len) would tell you this is a weed. Not exactly a garden. But my fairies are friendly and adaptable, and with the soil in East Tennessee they take what they can get. Besides. I like them. Daisies are the friendliest flowers. That’s a movie quote friends. There’s a free bottle of Fairy Dust for a lucky winner if you get it right in the comments and follow us!* Happy Friday everyone! *winner chosen at random #FairyGarden #EastTennessee #Miniature #

Enchantment… In Proportion
Photo Credit: Liz Ballard Once Upon a Time… There is a drive about a quarter-mile long from the highway to my house. One section is beautifully tree-lined and runs along our creek. Squirrels scamper across the road, rabbits peek out of the grass with noses wiggling and birds flit from tree to tree. It’s as picturesque as it sounds. On a good day, you’ll see deer, too. This happened just last week. It was sunny and spring-like and three pretty does stood in the tall grass

A Deeper Perspective
“When what is, isn’t … and vice versa.” Have you ever been pulled into a photo of the layers of mountains (like in the Smokies) that takes you miles beyond the foreground? Yet, the image is on a thin piece of photo paper, canvas or even the display of a cell phone? The typical camera captures images similar to the way our eyes take in a view. So, when we later view the image, the scene can make us feel as though we are where the camera was at the time. At least visually. The

Destinations
A magical quality in the creation of a miniature garden lies in the ability to create a physical destination, a cerebral destination or both. What the John Henry is he talking about??? Ok, a little more information so that my thoughts may make sense to other human beings. When creating a physical destination within an MG (my lazy way to say “Mini Garden”), one would create an actual path, trail or flow (like a dry river bed, stepping stones or such) that leads one’s eyes to a
